It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our 5th Annual Asia-Pacific Conference on Early Mobilization & Rehabilitation in the ICU!
Early mobilization and rehabilitation for patients with critical illness are important skills in critical care management to prevent complications and improve patient outcomes. We should provide holistic care to our patients, with early rehabilitation being an essential component.
For this year's conference, we have a collaborative effort between the Asia-Pacific Mobilization Network with the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, and the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine from Sarawak General Hospital. The theme for this Conference entitled "A Multi-disciplinary Approach in Critical Care for Better Patient Outcomes" will be held on 23 and 24 August 2019 at the Borneo Convention Centre.
We will disseminate valuable information, relevant to the entire multi-disciplinary team, regarding critical care rehabilitation. We have participation of professionals from many disciplines, including rehabilitation medicine, anaesthesiology, intensive care, medicine, paediatrics, physiotherapy and psychiatry.
Our Scientific Chairman for this event is Prof Dale Needham, MD, PhD. Prof. Needham is the Medical Director of the Critical Care Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Nursing, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins University. He will deliver his keynote lecture on the new Society of Critical Care Medicine Guidelines for ICU Rehabilitation and Mobilization.
At this conference, don't miss this opportunity to share and upgrade your knowledge, exchange ideas and new skills regarding early rehabilitation programmes in the critical care setting.
We look forward to seeing and welcoming you to the beautiful Kuching city located in Sarawak, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo.
